The protagonist of the project is a young man. Nick Frank - was born and raised in Samara. He is a little over 20, but his name is the decoration of the largest glossy editions abroad, he is a participant of special projects in photography that are well-known in Russia.
Nick is a model. But an unusual model.
Today he is moving in a special direction - the direction of androgyny. He easily transforms from man to woman. His Nicole is literally a bomb of beauty.
He is a physician by training, today he treats many souls of young people who admire his talent.

I was 14 years old. I watched the show «America's Next Top Model» with great inspiration and curiosity, because I liked the process itself. I seriously thought about becoming a stylist and reaching such a platform, trying to create something. But, I confess, later this desire faded, because the school is a period of continuous complexes, plus, the atmosphere was heating up by classmates, because I was not like everyone else. Nobody considered me beautiful, and, of course, then I did not go against the majority opinion.
Later, when I already entered medical college, I texted one girl. It was she who told me that I should definitely try myself as a model. I decided to agree and she helped me to find the first photographer.

The beginning of my career
That was March 3, 2015. Then we shot on the roof of an 11-story building. I was in a jacket, shirt and jeans. It was a terrible cold, but we managed. For me, this was a fixed idea - to die, but to do.
The same evening they sent me photographs. I did not take this experience seriously...
However, I was offered a second shoot. There were ice floes, snow and snowdrifts. After that, I thought that I could go for another shoot, and then I began to actively search for photographers by myself, write to everyone, do something ...
But I received almost a hundred percent of «no»: somebody simply refused, somebody said that we did not know what to do with you, others said that they would work with me, but we won't take photos «people like you»... All were limited by some kind of frameworks. Only thanks to beginners-photographers somehow I managed to get off the ground.

I met a friend during a practice. This was one of the photo schools where I was filmed. We were told that we were very similar and decided to put together on the set. I remember when we posted this experience on the Web, a resonance happened there. Many said, wow, who are they? Ah, so this is the boy who wrote to everyone, but everyone refused him...
In the summer, with the same girlfriend, we decided to take another shot. We went to a large technical building in Samara, from which water was pouring and it looked like a waterfall. As a result, we went on exploration of the place - to take a few test shots. From the props, we had a plastic crown and that's it. But the result exceeded our expectations! It was so beautiful that they decided not to change anything. We also posted this work on the Web, and after this experience, they really began to recognize me. This is one of my landmark projects.
| But, after several months, I had a stalemate in the projects, stagnation - there were no filming, no offers, they began to refuse me again. And they started talking to me that it's probably everything, that I had a good moment, but time had passed. Like, calm down, go on - study. And then I was seriously sad. But I did not stop. Texted with one makeup artist, I proposed an idea. And we decided to make with her a super creative image - feathers, there was something else - and after this shoot... |
At that time I had friend – a girl-photographer, who completely liberated me. We started working with her, and at one point, she told me to move how I feel.
I remember that 4 shots were made in a week - so I could feel free, and she really liked it. I remember that I looked at these pics and absolutely understood that my body movement was different. My posing has become completely different. It was then that my birth took place, which lives here and now. It was the end of 2016.

I realized that it was necessary to shoot, which would inspire me at first. So I watched it, and understood, like, wow, how cool! It was important for me that I wanted to act in film and to act again. I started trying, doing. I've got less filming, I began to filter uninteresting projects that took energy in vain.
Then Nicole appeared as a full-fledged character. By the end of 2017, I clearly understood that I wanted to move in the direction of androgyny, maybe a strange, atypical photograph. I believe that the year 2018 was the year of my development. It's true, I had the least number of shootings, but the level of quality of each project was very high.
For myself, too, I raised a certain bar. And with such attitudes, the past year passed. My last project with dancers is a kind of bar too. This project is an organizational idea, an example of teamwork, in a real team. I realized how great it was when people go about their business and everyone is focused on one point, on one result.

Nevertheless, the image of an androgyne model in society is viewed as a shock. It is not clear whether this is a pleasant shock or not ... Perhaps our country is not yet fully prepared for this. But what prevents me from changing the public opinion for the better and to prove that androgyny is beautiful, and to do it with my own work.
